Wahkeena Falls Loop - Colombian GorgeWahkeena Falls is one of the more popular destinations in the gorge and there's a reason for that. Wahkeena Falls has a beauty all its own. It's not a huge, single fall like Multnomah or Latourell and there's no lodge or fancy freeway exit to draw people.
Wahkeena Trail is also my favorite beginner trail. Even though there's a lot of climbing here, the surface is good, a lot of it recently paved. One of neat things about the Wahkeena Trail is that there's something cool every few hundred feet. It might be a Columbia River view, or it might be a cascading stream. Lots of rewards make it easier for people to challenge themselves. |

Amelia - Our Wahkeena tour with our tour guide was fantastic! If you're thinking of exploring the outdoors in Oregon, definitely book a tour with with Guided Walks of Portland. The tour itself was both serene and extremely informative. Our guides enthusiasm for nature is contagious. In addition to marveling at the beautiful waterfalls, we sampled some of the edible plants in the forest and our guide found a frog along the way. He explained the geological factors that have shaped the terrain over time and identified plants native to the area. I found this so benefical and another bonus to the beautiful landscape that this tour has to offer.
Greg - We took a group tour with Ivan and I expected to enjoy it because I love hiking. However, this tour is the real deal. Ivan is INSANELY knowledgeable and makes so many things more interesting about exploring. The hike, sights, food, and information seriously could not have been better. I cannot not express how highly I recommend taking a tour!
